Go for Baroque

So one of my new favorite artists on Etsy is Black Baroque.  They do these really cool animal / medical / botanical prints on old book and newspaper pages.  I think a wall of these (maybe in a different simpler frame than shown) would look pretty fabulous. 

And a lot of impact for prints that are only $10 a pop.

Noah's Ark

Admittedly I have a bit of an animal obsession (one of these days I'm going to go through my house and count the number of animal objets d'art I have). In any case, I think these papier mache animal heads from Anthropologie are adorable.

Add them to a study or a kids' room.  And if you're really crafty.... and have the time....you could make them yourself (make some extras and send them to me, please).

Pickle it, jam it, chutney it....

So our Loquat tree is starting to drip with fruit.  Well, maybe droop is the right word.  I helped ease its burden today by picking a few.  The question is though, what to do with them.  They tend to be a little sour.  And I'm not really much of a sweet food jam/jelly type of person.  Perhaps a pork dish with loquat reduction?  Any other ideas?

Floral adventures

Well, the tablecloths for aforementioned dinner party didn't end up happening, so they are being returned to World Market (really an excuse to go buy more throw pillows).  But I did end up deconstructing two simple Costco flower arrangements to create the simple yet elegant centerpiece for the dinner party.

Please excuse the hideous black folding chairs.  One day when everything else is done on my list, I will get around to replacing those.

More Pillows!

Well, we stopped in to World Market the other day to purchase a table cloth for a dinner party, and what did we end up leaving with? An outdoor rug for our upstairs patio and a fun new pillow for the living room.  I'm loving the pillow selection and prices at World Market.  This is me contemplating purchasing them all....

And this is the final product on the sofa.  Just need to add something on the other side.
