Urban Farmhouse Reveal: Outdoor Living

Tuesday, April 11, 2017

Hi Everyone! Jess D back today with the final space in our Urban Farmhouse Reveal. It's been so fun sharing this project with you all. We didn't do any sort of design board for this space as my clients bought most of the furniture and then passed the selections by me.  But when I got to LA they were generally unhappy with the layout and the way the space felt.  I shifted around the seating so it felt more natural and utilized the space better and brought in some finishing touches (pillows, throws and accessories) to soften things up. I love how this space feels and am more than a little jealous of the year-round outdoor living they have in Socal.  My good friend Nancy Knapp at Weeds Garden Design did an amazing job on the plantings (pictured here just a few months old).  Can't wait to see how things look as the plants grow in and become more lush.

Urban Farmhouse Reveal: The Powder Room

Tuesday, April 4, 2017

Hi Everyone!  Just a couple more spaces to go on our Urban Farmhouse Reveal. One of my favorite spaces is the powder room. It's such a little jewel box. Love the floor tile, the stone sink, shiplap and pendant light.  Here is a refresher with the design concept.

And here is the final product.  I absolutely love the vintage french mirror that we got at Nickey Kehoe.  Wish that the space was a little larger so we could have gotten some better shots. But hopefully you get the idea.

Stay tuned next week for our final space - the outdoor patio.

Urban Farmhouse Reveal: The Kids' Bathroom

Wednesday, March 29, 2017

Hi Everyone. Jess Davis back again with one of the final spaces in our Urban Farmhouse project. So far we've shown you the Kitchen, Living / Dining, Master Bedroom, Master Bath, Play Room, Boy's Room, and Guest Room.  Today we have the Kid's Bath.  You recall my design concept from a while back. Here is a refresher.

And here is the final product. I love how the industrial lights tie in with the farmhouse theme and how clean and bright the space is.

Stay tuned next week for the final space, the Powder Room.

Urban Farmhouse Reveal: The Guest Room

Wednesday, March 22, 2017

Hi Everyone.  Jess Davis back again with a few final spaces in our Urban Farmhouse project.  Thus far you've seen the Kitchen, Living / Dining, Master Bedroom, Master Bath, Play Room, and Boy's room.  Today we are hitting up the Guest Room.  Perhaps a little less interesting but still a fun space.  Here was the design board we created.

And here is the final product. Light, airy and neutral. My client found that vintage modigiliani print and I love how it adds so much presence in the room.

Stay tuned next week for the kids' bath!

Urban Farmhouse Reveal: Baby Boy's Room

Wednesday, March 15, 2017

Hi Everyone.  Jess Davis here. Last week was crazy so I didn't get a chance to show you a new space in our Urban Farmhouse project. Thus far you've seen the kitchen, living / dining, master bedroom, master bath, and play room.  Next up is my client's son's room. I love that this room is playful yet masculine and not too baby-ish.  It's a nursery but it will grow with him to be his big-boy room. Here is our design board:

And the after photos. I love it when the concept board is so true to the final product.  What do you think?

Stay tuned next week as we take a look at the guest bedrooms!

Urban Farmhouse Reveal: The Playroom

Tuesday, February 28, 2017

Hi Everyone. So for the past few weeks I've been showing you the final product on our Urban Farmhouse project. So far we have tackled the Kitchen, Living / Dining Area, Master Bedroom, and Master Bath.  Today, let's take a look at how the Play Room turned out.  Here is the design board we created.

And here are some shots of the final product. I love how playful and bright this space is.  Though buying from big box stores tends to be easier when you're designing a space (since things tend to be in stock and aren't one offs), it's nice to introduce a little vintage too. The rug is a vintage piece we got on Etsy and the art is something we sourced at one of my favorite LA vintage stores 45-Three Modern Vintage (see my post about shopping LA here).  The space is stylish without being fussy and hopefully it will grow with its inhabitants.

Stay tuned next week as we take a look at a fun little boy's room.

Urban Farmhouse Reveal: the Master Bath

Tuesday, February 21, 2017

Hi Everyone! Last week I shared with you the master bedroom reveal on the urban farmhouse project I worked on out in LA. Today, let's check out the master bath.  As a refresher, here is the original concept.

This is one of my favorite spaces. I love the hanging lights, stained wood and the gallery wall.

Stay tuned next week for the play room reveal!

Urban Farmhouse Reveal: The Master Bedroom

Tuesday, February 14, 2017

Hi there!  Jess here with a few more Urban Farmhouse Reveal shots.  Last week we showed you the living / dining space and the week before was the kitchen, featuring our bespoke hardware.  Today we're showcasing the master bedroom.  Here is the original concept board.

And here is the space completed.  I love the little reading nook with my client's father's vintage leather chair.  And I absolutely love the pillows on the bed that we got from Nickey Kehoe.  The space turned out to be so luxurious, airy and inviting.

Stay tuned next week as we show off the final product on the play room.

Urban Farmhouse Reveal: The Living Room

Monday, February 6, 2017

Hi Folks.  I hope you enjoyed the reveal of the Urban Farmhouse Kitchen. I love how our decorative hardware adds a touch of luxury to to what would otherwise feel more simple clean and a tad rustic.  The kitchen is open to the living and dining areas so today I wanted to show you the rest of that space.  I absolutely love how it turned out.  It's clean, boho farmhouse and really a unique bespoke space for the family that lives there.  You may recall, here is the concept board I created way back when.

And some progress shots as we were moving forward.

I made two trips out to LA. The final trip we bought accessories and really styled up the house and had a photo shoot (nothing like a shoot to make you finish a project).  Here is the reveal.

Stay tuned next week for more spaces from the project!
