For the Rugged Man...

Wednesday, December 21, 2011

My husband recently received the Filson Catalog.  I had never heard about this brand of "better outdoor clothes since 1897".   They've been around a while and obviously know what they are doing.  The catalog pages are chock full of classic items for the outdoorsman in your life (or maybe even that hipster brother of yours).  Here are my favorite picks just in time for Christmas.

[1] Cowichan Sweater
[2] Leather and Stainless Steel Flask
[3] Mackinaw Wool Lap Robe
[4] Clip Suspenders
[5] Small Carry On Bag
[6] Mackinaw Wool Vest

[7] Carrier with Vacume Bottle

Finally

Storm clouds rolling in and some much needed rain (view from our office window). Of course, not so great timing for the gutter cleanout planned for this weekend.

Weekend Signoff: Bridal Bliss

Friday, April 1, 2011

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.  I'm heading down to San Diego tomorrow for Cori at Pretty Haute Mess's bridal shower.  Can't wait to see what sorts of activities and treats are in store.

Weekend-palooza

Friday, March 4, 2011

So no real major plans this weekend, except do a few meals with friends and hit up a few estate sales. Hopefully there are some treasures to be found. I'm bummed that I can't go to the estate sales until Saturday (most of the ones here start Friday and I have a day job).  That said, I found this lovely estate sale pic on Flickr. Clearly someone loved owls even more than I do.  The truly remarkable thing is that I actually own one of those owls on the bottom left (the pair above the orange and green one).  I wonder how many of those were made.

Weekend Signoff

Friday, February 18, 2011

Well I'm finally getting over the worst cold / flu bug of the season - just in time for the weekend.  Sadly, it looks like we will be encountering some rain.  Hoping for sunshine and butterflies.

Weekend Sign Off

Friday, February 4, 2011

Well, it's another weekend chalk full of activities.  At what age does it end up that your weekend itinerary ends up jam packed and you're scheduling things out a month or six in advance?  Between traveling, visits from friends (this is not a dig at my friends - please keep visiting), and trips to the hardware store, it seems like an entire month's worth of weekends can get gobbled up in no time (well, in a month...).  How I long for a weekend of no plans, a jaunt in the garden, a run, some lounging, impromptu brunch.....  "Impromptu" ... what does that word mean?
