Recently an old college friend contacted me about designing the living room in her Washington DC town home. She has a great open, airy space and wanted the living room to stay pretty open and clean and also be able to use the space for playing with her young daughter. She wanted to keep some key pieces like her new sofa and lounge chairs but otherwise had a fairly blank slate. We have a mutual love of everything Schoolhouse Electric (see my diaper bag post here), so I had a pretty good idea of what she wanted. Here are some photos of how her space looks currently.
There wasn't much to alter about the layout but we did add some built-ins in the front for toy storage and display and a cozy window seat for reading.
Below is the design board I created for the space! Can't wait to get this going and show you some after photos!

Here is Bryan's birth announcement that Cindy from Lucky 8 Letterpress helped me out with. She did a great job creating a simple in-budget design highlighting our little one with a nod to the year of the rabbit.

I'd like to say Welcome to our newest sponsor Peas and Queues Kids. Peas and Queues is the brainchild of Sally Wang and Anasuya Engel both moms and fashion industry veterans. The adorable line of kid's clothes was born out of the desire to create simple well-made and fashion forward clothing for little ones, that is reminiscent of contemporary and European fashions. While TBD already has quite the arsenal of infant clothing (thanks to all of our generous friends and their no-longer-infant children), I'm excited to have stumbled across Peas and Queues and their unique style as a source for as he gets older. Here's a smattering of some of their line.
