Before and After
Every once in a while I like taking a little tour of my past residences in Google street view. It's a fun way to reminisce and catch up on changes that have happened since our tenure - at last, they replaced the windows on our old Boston apartment building, the Robert Stern condos next door to our Brooklyn place are finally complete, and oh look, there's our neighbor from Park La Brea standing outside his front door! Today I took a little tour of our current residence. I guess on a little street like ours, Google doesn't update the views so often.
Wowzers! We really gave the place a hair cut since we moved in!

Well, not counting the toilet leaking surprise that we woke up to on New Years morn, the Chez Davis Party To End All Parties In 2010 went off without a hitch. Friends contributed food and libations and fun times were had with the help of a live pianist and bartender.
A little arts and crafts pre-game. Party hats and resolution booklets oh my!
Table is all set and fireplace is lit.
Gold balls were hung from the lantern with care.
Pianist warming up and ready for guests
The first guests arrive and give a toast from the warmth of the living room.Candles lit! Fire extinguisher at the ready.
Me and Cori from Pretty Haute Mess
Boys mingling in suits and tuxes. Isn't it fun to play dress up?
Dinnertime!
Here we come 2011!

A Happy New Year to my readers!
Thanks for sticking by the Eagles Nest in its first year - through several logo changes, the trials and tribulations of our first year as homeowners, and many fun finds locally and on the interwebs . I already have several surprises up my sleeve for 2011 and can't wait to share them with you in the New Year. Nest Studio will be launching a line of products this year and I will be giving you guys sneak peaks at what's in store as 2011 rounds the corner.
We're having a little soiree for new years with a host of fellow revelers including Cori from Pretty Haute Mess. I'm looking forward to posting about my festive New Years decor ideas and my easy entertaining menu.

Christmas Wreath Spirograph by Sally M
Well, we're about to open a few more Christmas gifts here at Chez Davis - those that will not be coming with us to Scott's parents' house. I'll be taking a little break between now and new years to catch my breath and come up with some fun ideas for 2011 content. So have a wonderful Christmas and New Years and stay tuned for more fun finds and local haunts from the Eagle's Nest in the new year!
